Rosso di Montalcino

Rosso di Montalcino is made from the same grape variety as Brunello and comes from the same vineyards. The differences, other than the cost and DOC designation, are that the grapes are selected from younger vines and the vinification process. Rosso has less fermentation time on the skins and requires one year of aging. It has the power and intensity of Brunello, but it is younger, more vibrant and lighter bodied. This is a particularly good value in wine.
